This week, our new VentureCrew lady is taking us back to nature. 🌳 Meet Tea Serdarević 🤩

Tea discovered her love for biology and chemistry during high school. However, the real turning point in her life occurred in her first year of gymnasium when she explored the world of science through work at the Petnica Research Center. There, she uncovered her interest in the functioning of the human body, focusing on questions of the immune system and innovations in diagnostics. 👩‍🔬

Tea's success story also includes her participation in conferences in Germany, Slovenia, and Croatia. She admits she felt nervous at first, but soon realized that conferences are an opportunity to refresh ideas, make new acquaintances, and grow professionally. 📈

What makes Tea special is her contribution to organizing conferences through her work in the student union. Besides molecular biology, Tea has become skilled in marketing, HR, and PR, expanding her horizons beyond science. 👩‍💼

What's next for Tea? She plans to pursue a master's degree, either in Serbia or abroad, to expand her knowledge and bring innovations to her field. 🚀

What is the Recap project 🌳?

Tea is part of a team working on the "Recap" project, dedicated to finding innovative solutions to the global hunger problem. Their task is to revitalize degraded land, with the key lying in small but powerful creatures - microorganisms, especially cyanobacteria. 🦠

Their adventure takes them through the concept of biocrusts, which promise to transform neglected land, whether caused by natural disasters or human activities.

But how did Tea start her journey? With passion and persistence, she volunteered in a laboratory, gradually building her skills from measurements to independent research. 👩‍🔬

If you're ready to embark on a similar journey, Tea recommends learning through National Geographic and scientific journals, highlighting the basics of DNA and RNA as key to understanding the secrets of molecular biology. 🌳
