Katarina and Andrej with Lie Detection 👮♂️
Meet Katarina and Andrej, students who are combining their knowledge of electronics and anatomy in their biomedical engineering studies! 🔌🩻Katarina finished electrical engineering school, but she has always been interested in medicine, so she chose this program as a compromise between her interests. Andrej wanted to stay close to sports and later apply the knowledge he gains in biomedical engineering to create products that make athletes’ work easier. 👩💻
What’s interesting about their program is that they study anatomy and electrical engineering simultaneously, so we asked how these subjects can be learned together. We quickly found out that it actually makes a lot of sense, as it allows them to see how well the human body can be modeled using electrical circuits. 🫀
Their advice for future students who find this program interesting is to explore the courses, and if they are open to gaining multidisciplinary knowledge in both fields, this might be the right choice for them.

What is Lie Detection 👮♂️?
Katarina and Andrej created their own little lie detector! 🥳
This device they built together, with the help of boards from Mikroelektronika AD, measures skin conductivity and heart rate. ❤️
To successfully complete this project, teamwork and mutual coordination were crucial. They made sure to communicate all their ideas in order to meet the project requirements as effectively as possible.
What they realized through this experience is that you don’t have to know everything before starting to work on an idea; it’s completely normal to learn some things along the way.
As their final impressions of this mini-adventure, Katarina and Andrej mentioned how happy and proud they were when, after all the challenges they faced, they finished the implementation of their detector and saw it working in full. 👏🥹
